Yorkshire House and Hub has become the first office building in Leeds city centre to receive a top award for its digital connectivity.

The building’s Wired Certified Platinum award, given by the digital connectivity rating scheme WiredScore, ranks the technology infrastructure at the 83,000 sq ft workspace owned by FORE Partnership on Greek Street in Leeds amongst the very best in the UK. The top Wired Certified Platinum rating, which accounts for just 10% of WireScore’s rated buildings worldwide, puts Yorkshire House into an elite club of buildings including The Shard and The Empire State Building.

WiredScore champions the modern-day necessity for cutting-edge technology in real estate by providing the definitive certification for rating the digital connectivity of office buildings. The certification process allows landlords to understand, improve, and promote their buildings’ digital infrastructure and a high rating is playing an increasingly important role in occupiers’ decisions on which buildings they will rent.

Yorkshire House achieved the internationally recognised Wired Certified Platinum rating following an in-depth assessment of the building’s broadband and telecom infrastructure. Commenting on the news Basil Demeroutis, Managing Partner of FORE, said:  We want successful businesses to thrive at Yorkshire House and having the best digital connectivity available will help us to help businesses located here grow.

“Digital connectivity is one of the key drivers for occupiers, particularly for Leeds’ growing tech sector where high speed connectivity is crucial. It gives a clear signal to the market that Yorkshire House is not only one of the most digitally connected buildings in the city but that its digital infrastructure is future proofed.”

William Newton, President and EMEA MD, WiredScore, said: “FORE has made a great investment in the digital infrastructure of Yorkshire House. By working closely with WiredScore, FORE has improved the building’s connectivity significantly to achieve a Platinum rating. Those efforts demonstrate FORE’s commitment to provide best-in-class connectivity to their tenants.”

Yorkshire House has recently undergone a major refurbishment to create modern office space that fosters creativity and innovation. The building offers extensive amenities including a roof top terrace. Its Wired Certified Platinum rated, digital  infrastructure is part of an overall building philosophy that also incorporates highly sustainable design and low carbon initiatives. Yorkshire House is home to the largest solar PV installation in the city and has been rated BREEAM “Excellent”.

The office space at Yorkshire House is arranged over four floors with a 4,000 sq ft rooftop terrace on the fifth floor which is available to all tenants. The remaining space available ranges from 1,905 sq ft to 6,000 sq ft.

Knight Frank and Cushman & Wakefield are the joint agents for the property.
